Renaissance

Missouri Riesling was considered nearly extinct after virtually all vines were destroyed in 1919 at the onset of Prohibition. Westphalia Vineyards rediscovered a single vine, planted in 1890, at the National Agricultural Experimentation Center at Cornell University. In 2005 we started with 5 cuttings and have propagated this varietal to now over 500 healthy vines.

We call this experiment "Renaissance," the rebirth of a native American grape varietal.

We add no sulfites during the production of our handcrafted wines (note: may contain naturally occurring sulfites), so they are fresh, vigorous, and ready to drink. The Neuner family wishes you cheers and hope you enjoy our wines.
